Who we are

The Astound mobile application ("Astound," the "App") is offered by Astound Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). For privacy questions about this policy or the App, contact us atprivacy@astoundthem.com.

What Astound is

Astound is an iOS-only app that helps you practice speaking with guided exercises, feedback, and related content. The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. We do not operate user accounts or sign-up inside the App: there is no registration, username, or password managed by us.

Voice recordings and content on your device

Voice recordings and similar practice content you create in the App are stored locally on your iPhone as part of normal app behavior. We do not operate a cloud "library" of your recordings on our servers for you to log into, because we do not provide accounts.

Your device or Apple may separately back up or sync device data according to your settings (for example, iCloud backup). That processing is governed by Apple's policies, not ours.

Analytics (Mixpanel)

We use Mixpanel, a third-party analytics service, to understand how the App is used (for example, which features are used and how often) and to improve stability and product decisions. Mixpanel processes data on our behalf and may store it in the United States and other locations described in Mixpanel's documentation.

Depending on how the App is configured, Mixpanel may receive technical and usage information such as app events, timestamps, device type, operating system version, app version, locale, and a pseudonymous identifier used to recognize an app installation over time (for example, a device or installation identifier as allowed on iOS). We design analytics not to send your voice audio, transcripts, or the contents of your recordings to Mixpanel; if you need certainty, review the App's implementation or ask us using the contact above.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly defined in U.S. state privacy laws.
• We do not run third-party advertising networks in the App as described in older versions of our policy.
• We do not require an account or collect an email address from you inside the App for registration.

Apple and subscriptions

Downloads, updates, and in-app purchases or subscriptions are processed by Apple. Apple may collect payment and device-related information subject toApple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or object to certain processing of personal information. Because we do not maintain traditional accounts, requests may be limited to information we can reasonably link to you (for example, identifiers held by our analytics vendors). We will respond consistent with applicable law.

California residents: You may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. You can contact us at the email above.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland: If GDPR-style rights apply, you may contact us at the same email. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children

Astound is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International transfers

If you use the App outside the United States, information processed by Mixpanel or other vendors may be transferred to the United States or other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different data protection rules than your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example, in the App). Continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
